Muzeum w Koszalinie

Muzeum w Koszalinie, założone w 1947 roku, zostało wpisane do Państwowego Rejestru Muzeów w 2009 roku. Historia muzeum sięga 1912 roku, kiedy niemieckie Towarzystwo Krajoznawcze zorganizowało pierwszą wystawę w ratuszu. W 1929 roku muzeum przeniosło się do budynku przy ul. Gdańskiej, a po zakończeniu II wojny światowej zostało zamknięte.

W 1947 roku, po przejęciu części zbiorów, muzeum wznowiło działalność w Koszalinie. W ciągu lat zmieniało podległość administracyjną, a od 1999 roku ponownie znajduje się w gestii Urzędu Miejskiego. Placówka gromadzi zbiory archeologiczne, historyczne, numizmatyczne, etnograficzne oraz dzieła sztuki. Muzeum organizuje wystawy stałe i czasowe, prowadzi działalność edukacyjną oraz wydawniczą.
